The Final Countdown: Monday Linkage

As I start typing this, the counter at the bottom of the page reads "19936", meaning probably by sometime tomorrow we'll be topping 20,000 hits on the Blog O' Fun since Thanksgiving 2003. The Blog has been around a while longer than that, but it took me that long to figure out how to patch the HTML together to make it work. After doing a little research, we hit 10,000 on the 23rd of January, so doing a little math, that's somewhere around a thousand hits a month. I can live with that.

There'll be a prize of some sort for whoever is lucky number 20,000. I'm not sure what, but there will be something.

Best Night Of TV - Of course the DirecTV guy wouldn't show up this morning to fix our dish when tonight is the single greatest night of TV during the week. An entire hour of Arrested Development, Prison Break, How I Met Your Mother, Laguna Beach and the Monday Night Football game of the season as the Colts take on the Patriots.

Did you know Peyton Manning is 0-7 against Tom Brady? Someone on Page 2 made the Russell/Chamberlain comparision, but I'll abstain from that until Manning proves he's slept with one woman, let alone 10,000.

And you wonder why the Panthers are on a win-streak - True story: In an attempt to find some pictures of the mentioned Carolina cheerleaders in this article, the Panthers official homepage wouldn't work. I'm guessing this is either because they have a shoddy site, or my real prediction that there was such a rush to do what I was doing that it crashed the site entirely.

"They'll love that shit in the Turkish leagues" - Ever wonder what happened to former Irish point guard Chris Thomas, he of the Amazingly Disappointing Senior Campaign? HoopsHype cares enough to hunt him down in Italy, where he's just happy to be part of the game. Apparently his knee injury was so bad it caused him to make terrible decisions in the last five minutes of close games against Syracuse.

(It doesn't say that in the interview, but I'm inferencing.)

"Swear on our relationship!" - If you wander the internet at any pace, you can find a Laguna Beach expose once a week or so. Here's the latest - and one of the best- from the LA Times.

Anyone interested in spending their summer in Cali making a real documentary about The Real Orange County, the application will be coming out within the next few weeks.

She's Still Down 9-4 In Our Euchre Series - Congrats to Suzi Q and the rest of the Notre Dame women's soccer team for their Big East championship over the weekend. They'll be hosting the opening rounds of the NCAA's this weekend, and considering we're playing Navy in football, that should be the major sports attraction of the weekend.

Oh, by the way, Suzi Q scored the final goal of the 5-0 rout over UConn. I haven't talked to her yet to see if she used my suggested celebration of "Rowing a boat", ala Steve Smith against the Vikings.

Insert Jaws Theme Here - OMGZ JEFF SAMARDJIZA IS TEH HOTTEST.

Thanks to Mike Hass not averaging 200 yards a game receiving over the last three weeks, it should be an interesting race between him, The Shark and Dwayne Jarrett for the Biletnikoff Award. And do remember, Jeff didn't have a single touchdown last year. This year, he hasn't gone a game without finding that gooey, delicious end zone.

Happy Monday, folks.
