"Milk was a bad choice."

Sorry for the lack of updates the last couple of days, but Monday was an R & R day at the Ranchero (extreme napping followed by NCAA 2007) and yesterday consisted of me getting in the house, showering and turn around to attend a game with the Eternally Disappointing Franchise Known as the Pittsburgh Pirates. Plus, with this crazy heat gripping a majority of the country, everyone is getting to be a Montague-and-Capulet-in-Verona kinda grumpy, including myself. I was all excited to link and rave about the new Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip pilot somebody pirated for YouTube, but after two days, the Warner Brothers lawyers shut that down mercilessly. I can't imagine how involving the internet and starting a grassroots campaign could possibly help the hype for your product. To NBC's and Warner Brothers' credit, though, they will be releasing the pilot early through NetFlix, but I think they'd have generated sufficently more buzz if they kept it on YouTube.

How good was Studio 60, though? Let's just say you'll be wanting to keep your Monday nights at 10:00 open, football or no football, unless Sorkin goes crazy again or something. If you enjoyed The West Wing, Sports Night or like the behind-the-scenes dealing part of Entourage as much as the hot chicks and cool cars, you'll probably like-to-love this pilot.

Since we're referencing one Ferrell summer movie, I'll take the time to point out that this year's offering - Talladega Nights - is getting lukewarm reviews over at RottenTomatoes. However, if you look at the actual quotes, they're basically making fun of NASCAR and the movie for not being focused. It's a high-potential comedy in a summer of shitty films; I shall take my chances.

Keep cool, everyone.
