“The cultural race to the bottom is a myth; we do not live in a fallen state of cheap pleasures that pale beside the intellectual riches of yesterday. And we are not innate slackers, drawn inexorably to the least offensive and least complicated entertainment available. All around us the world of mass entertainment grows more demanding and sophisticated, and our brains happily gravitate to that newfound complexity.” - Steven Johnson

And So It Begins
While the Blue-Game Game is certainly exciting (I'm pumped to get Rob's game notes scribbled on a napkin stained with nacho cheese and Natty Light), it's just a quick hit of football goodness before the long offseason continues. Today also marks the beginning of the final, bloated (yet awesome) act of the NBA season, the playoffs. So buy your new Shirt (they're decent, nothing special, nothing terrible) and then get ready for the double-header of Good Vs. Evil tomorrow night, as both the Nuggets and Warriors try to show they belong with the Spurs and Mavericks.
Things tip off this afternoon with the entire province of Ontario's Holy War against Vince Carter, which should make for a very loud, very unhappy Air Canada Center.
If you have any interest at all in some sweet NBA previews, head on over to The Basketball Jones, where they're unleashing twenty-minute podcasts for each series, making my workouts considerably more entertaining. They also provide us with this great picture in reference to Pistons/Magic:
All of the Notre Dame football, general college football and college hoops stuff has moved over to Rakes of Mallow. Rob and I have put some work into it, and it almost isn't terrible at this point.
