Red Carpet Spectacular: One Hour 'Til Showtime

Just recounting a few of my favorite memories from last year's Oscars.

The first has nothing to do with the Oscars, and is just a mock diary from Peter Jackson that had me rolling last February and Sean fuming that anyone dare make fun of the guy that made Lord of the Rings. Read it aloud with the implied New Zealand accent and enjoy.

Second is the video of Three 6 Mafia winning for Best Song and how happy everyone is for them. Jon Stewart, after their acceptance speech which includes shout-outs to everyone from Ludacris to George Clooney, points out that maybe everyone should be as excited as them. The main problem with the Academy Awards is that they're so damn sollen, so when you get a shot of life like "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" and people that are openly excited to be winning, it's a lot more fun.

Celebrate people! You're not showing anyone up, you just won an Oscar! Live it up like you will at the afterparties when you get a few drinks in you!

And my rooting interest for tonight is squarely with one film in the major categories. Let's go, Marty.
