The NFL apparently is trying to personally make amends with me over the last two Super Bowls...

...since they're angling for the best Super Bowl musical performances since Whitney Houston's "Banner" and U2's awesome show down in New Orleans post-9/11 by going after...wait for it...Norah Jones and Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce Springsteen and Norah Jones are at the top of the list. The NFL is hoping the recent successes of Prince, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney can be used as leverage to bring in the Boss while Jones would be ideal to sing the National Anthem during the pregame ceremonies, according to NFL VP of programming Charles Coplin.

It's not like either the Boss or Norah need a whole lot of help being awesome and making money - although Ms. Jones' latest album isn't as good as the first two, but hey, you can't be perfect all the time - but I hope the NFL can convince them to perform.
