Viva La Yankees!!!

When the 2001 World Series - and the Yankees Dynasty - ended on Luis Gonzalez's bloop single on that fateful November night, it was one of the best sports moments I've ever been with. My dad - who actually stayed awake - and I camped out in the living room, watching Schilling and Clemens trade blows before The Big Unit came in for relief and The Virgin Mariano finally was stopped in the bottom of the 9th.

That being said, I couldn't be happier that the Bronx Bombers have finally caught the champs, as last October's Red Sox mania made me physically ill. The fact is, if the playoffs started today, the BoSox wouldn't even be participating. Of course, at the rate things are going, it might be a three-way battle between the BoSox, ChiSox and Yanks for two playoff spots, because The Tribe is rolling towards an AL Central crown, a dream that seemed impossible a month ago.

Ten games left. One spot already locked up (The Cardinals), one spot all but locked up (The Braves) and six other playoff berths that are going to be very interesting to follow.

The Captain plans on getting some revenge for the ALCS last year.
